Busy Race & Media Weekend for Marc!
April 26, 2008
Austin & Kyle, TX — Marc had a busy schedule this race weekend. It started on Friday at Thunder Hill Raceway with
an interview with Austins FOX 7 Weekend Sports Anchor Dennis
de la Pena. The interview was filmed at the track is to be broadcasted at a later date on
Fox 7 in Austin.
Then Saturday Morning it was off to the K-MAC Sports Studio 19 in Austin
for a live On-Line Radio show, The A-Line Auto Parts JRA Kids Club Show. "It is Great that our team and sponsors got all the
the media exposer in the Austin area." Marc Said.
After the Radio show it was off to Thunder Hill Raceway for a HOT night of racing action in the #19 Modified. "I want
to thank Aaron Brungot with JRA Kids Club for being my transportaion to and from the track for this weekend." Marc would say later.
Marc would qualify 7th for the Express Jet Pro-Modified 50 lap Feature, but end up starting 6th after one car left the impound area to work on his car.
In the 50 lap Feature Marc would move up to 5th early. With only a few laps in, running in a tight pack, the #26 of Bob Slezinsky would hit
Marc causing the pick up tube in the fuel cell to move causing a fuel pick up problem. "All I could do after the 26 hit me," Marc would say,
"was to make laps and stay out of the way, the fuel pressure would drop so low at times the engine would stall" The race had several cautions
which help Marc manage a 7th place finish in the Feature.

Wichita Falls, TX — Red River Speedway hosted the Pro-Modifieds for the first time."It is Great to return to Red
River Speedway with the modified." Marc Said.
Marc finished 2nd in the first qualifying heat race behind Heat winner car #5 of JC Umsheid, giving Marc the second row inside
for the Feature.
At the drop of the green flag, Marc would follow the #5 of Umsheid into turn one for second. The race would go caution
free for the entire 40 laps. "All I could do was follow Umsheid," Marc would say later, "JC was the class of the field,
I was happy to finish second and bring home a solid run for the #19 Muirhead Trucking sponsored car." Running 3rd was #13
of David Rose, 4th was the #48, Rick Wycough and the #98 Jay Guthrie rounded out the top 5.

Marc Finishes 7th in "Express Jet 50"!
April 12, 2008
KYLE — Pro Modifieds lined up for their 50-lap "Express Jet 50" feature.
H.E Naumann on the pole, Tuffy Hudson on the outside pole. Ralph Burris, Jr and John Heil second row,
JC Umscheid and John Paul Kliewer third row, Justin Long and Bob Slezinsky fourth row, Marc Madison and Greg Baber fifth row.
At the green the pack goes into the first turn side by side and stay side by side most of the way down the back straight
but Heil bumps Hudson hard in in turn 3. Hudson hung on after almost spinning but Heil's front end is now sparking as if
he broke something or has a flat. Heil poulls up in the turn 1 groove to bring out the caution. As soon as the caution
waves, he's back on the throttle and off to the pits. He rejoins the field but has to start at the rear.
Naumann takes the green on lap 9 with Burris and Umscheid on his tail. Hudson right behind. Umscheid gives
Burris several love taps in turns for a lap or two and tires to force his way underneath but Burris
is having none of it and hangs on as Naumann starts to pull away. Husdons watches the Umschied-Burris
battle clesely waiting for a chance to follow Umscheid through. On lap 18 it happens just like that.
Its now Naumann, Umscheid, Hudson and Burris with Justin Long not far behind. Meanwhile, Heil is picking
off cars and making up ground on the leaders. With 26 to go, Baber spins solo down the back straight to bring
out the caution.
On the lap restart, it's Naumann, Umscheid, Hudson, Burris, Kliewer, Heil, Long, Madison, Umschied now puts his nose
up under Naumann on the restart and for much of the next circuit. The top three now are practically glued together as
they play bukmper tag on every lap.
With thirteen to go, Umscheid has to check up coming off the second turn and when he did, Hudson got into him
and turned him around. The track rules that Umscheid and Husdson get their spots back.
So its Naumann, Umscheid, Hudson, Burris, Kliewer, Heil, Long, Slezinsky, Baber and Madison on the lap 10 restart.
One has to wonder how much longer Naumann can hold off a very determined Umscheid. Something happens that I don't
see and Umscheid is suddenly towards the back of the pack. Not sure what happened there.
With 7 to go, Long spins solo in turn four and we go yellow again. On the lap 43 restart its Naumann, Hudson,
Burris, Kliewer, Heil, Slezinsky, Umscheid, Madison, Baber and Long. Naumann holds the lead as the green flies,
but puts a WHOLE LOT of pressue on, hitting Naumann from behind almost constantly. On lap 47 one of the Hudson
bumps knocks Naumann out of the way and Hudson takes over... But a yellow for a spin at the same time on the back
straight.. (didn't see who it was)
The track rules to give Naumann his lead spot back, but with 3 to go you can tell it's going to be rough. Heil had worked
his way back to fourth and was all over Burris who was in third. Lots of contact between teh pair. Meanwhile, Husdon
forced his way under Naumann and the pair raced side by side into three. Naumann slipped high and Hudson made the pass.
Naumann recovered and brought the car down low to cut off Burris and Heil who were still tangling with each other.
I'm not sure how things are going to be ruled, but I got it that Hudson won, Naumann second, Burris third, Heil fourth,
Umsheid fifth, Slezinsky 6th, Madison 7th, Long 8th, Kliewer 9th and Baber rounds out the top 10.
After the checkered, the hitting continued with Burris slamming into another car a couple of times.
Like I said. It was rough.
Story by Nick Holt with Texas Speed Zone.
"It was a good weekend," Marc Madison said. "We had some handing probelms, car was extremly loose in the Feature.
Over all the weekend was Good, we stayed on the lead lap with the leaders and was there at the end to finish 7th, thought we
should have have gotten 5th, but, Officials ruled we got 7th."
